myyyy dad!

My dad and my little brother-
and we all look CRAZY alike.
I think it's the squinty eyes when we smile.

This is such a funny picture to me.
During our wedding, Greg was saying a prayer and Keelin yelled "Papaw, whatcha doin?!"

Last night, my dad was in a nasty car accident.
When my brother called to tell me, it was like a nightmare-
having cupcakes with my dad yesterday afternoon for Father's Day and waking up to a call that he'd been in an accident just minutes from home. I was nearly sick.

Why?
Because I have a kickass dad.
He's one of my "people."
The world would not be near as nice of a place without him.

He's getting the good drugs at a local hospital now.
He managed to crunch every rib on his right side, but thank goodness for his seatbelt, his airbag, and his Honda Accord-
now lovingly referred to as "The Accord-ian."
;)
Yep, he coined that one BEFORE the pain meds.

I'll be out of commission for a few days-
Tim is going on a business trip, I have the kiddos, and Dad is in the hospital...
so my days will be a little crazy.
Thanks in advance for bearing with me.

OH-
and the next time you get in the car, put on your seatbelt.
Dad buckling up less than 24 hours ago saved his life.

24 week pictures and an update on me-ish

And there's Finn!
I knew the time was coming when he'd make his presence known.
This was taken right at 24 weeks!

Very exciting!
Can't wait to meet our little guy!

Looking at his ultrasound photos, he looks SO much like Keelin, but when I think of having a little boy, I imagine having a little Jackson clone! This is going to be fun!

One thing, pregnancy-wise, that I really need to get under control is my stress level. I have thin skin and really let people get to me, which isn't good for Finn, isn't good for me, and doesn't surround us with the kind of positivity that I've been striving to maintain throughout this pregnancy.

Today, we met with a real estate attorney to ask some questions, particularly about our property and things that we could expect when dealing with it. It was a very positive meeting and I'm so glad we went!

My favorite part of our meeting was when I accidently let it slip that I thought someone was a douchebag. Yes, I said douchebag to my dad's attorney. And he laughed! And agreed with me that the guy was, indeed, a douchebag! :) Calling a slumlord a douche, in my opinion, is the coolest thing he could have done!

Betcha can't guess who took this one?
Yep, Tim.

So precious.

Jackson and Big Bird?

I just feel the need to celebrate my wild guy!
This morning, Tim and I took him outside after we took Keelin to school.
It was time to check on the chickens water/food and open the door for them to go outside!

"Mommy, it's BIG BIRD!!!"
So, the chicken Jackson is pointing to is officially his special hen.
She's an Araucana hen named Big Bird.

Big Bird decided that she'd had enough.
Jackson WILL find you, Chicken... in his pjs and flip flops!

Jackson holding Big Bird.
I have never seen that little boy just stand still...
He really enjoyed getting to love on his feathered friend!

For the loves of our lives-

Tim and I decided this winter that as soon as the weather started acting Spring-like, we would get the kids some play gym things for the back yard. When I was out of town a couple of weekends ago for Elizabeth's baby shower, Tim put together the airplane teeter totter and the swingset. The swingset is small, sweet, and to the point. The airplane teeter totter is by no means minimalist- it was simply purchased for the love of the kids. Here are a few pictures of Tim's projects!

Keelin steering and Jackson hanging on for dear life!

Keelin pushing Jackson!

The airplane that nearly caused Tim and my little brother's heads to explode- it took 4 hours to build!

Our precious loves swinging together this afternoon!

I hate that the swing's chain was in the way of his face in this picture. He was just radiating pure joy.

Special thanks to Tim for being an amazing Daddy to our little ones. Any man can be a father. It takes something special to be a Daddy. So glad I'm married to one!
